South Shore Model Railway Club
Home of the East Coast Line

The South Shore Model Railway Club (SSMRC) would appreciate your generosity and participation in the construction of the new clubhouse with museum and new club layout.

The club has taken on a most ambitious relocation and construction project, involving the restoration of Building 51 - a site covering 10,000 square feet in Bare Cove Park in Hingham, MA. The building was used for munitions storage during WW II, providing support for Naval Operations in the Northeast. The building was serviced by an extensive rail network making it rich in both rail and Naval history. Presently, the SSMRC is involved in the extensive construction of a model railroad composed of six separate "peninsulas".

Construction of the 2,500 square feet of the member’s area, the museum, and library is completed, along with construction of a wood shop, model shop and, of course, the main "train room", which will house our 40' X 140' layout.

The work has been accomplished with club savings and donations from members and other individuals. To continue building the railroad, we will need the additional generosity of friends of the club. The SSMRC is a tax deductible, not for profit, organization. We welcome donations of any amount. Donations are deductible based on IRS guidelines governing 501c3 organizations

The opportunity to assist the SSMRC in building "The East Coast Lines"  is available to you in four giving levels:

Conductor’s Club $ 1000 Fireman’s Club $ 250
Engineer’s Club $ 500 Brakeman’s Club $ 100

If donation is "In Memory of" please be sure to mention this with your donation, which can be sent to:
SSMRC, 52 Bare Cove Park Drive, Hingham, MA 02043.
Your participation in any of the above giving levels will be recognized with an engraved plaque on the donation board, which is mounted in the reception area at the clubhouse. If you wish to support one of the many specific projects at the club, or your giving level exceeds the above levels, you will be recognized with an individual plaque.

Should you have any questions, give us a call at the club, e-mail us or check our progress on the web site. Sincerely,

The members of the SSMRC
