The South Shore Model Railway Club (SSMRC) would appreciate your generosity and participation in the construction of the new clubhouse with museum and new club layout.
The club has taken on a most ambitious relocation and construction project, involving the restoration of Building 51 - a site covering 10,000 square feet in Bare Cove Park in Hingham, MA. The building was used for munitions storage during WW II, providing support for Naval Operations in the Northeast. The building was serviced by an extensive rail network making it rich in both rail and Naval history. Presently, the SSMRC is involved in the extensive construction of a model railroad composed of six separate "peninsulas".
Construction of the 2,500 square feet of the member’s area, the museum, and library is completed, along with construction of a wood shop, model shop and, of course, the main "train room", which will house our 40' X 140' layout.
The work has been accomplished with club savings and donations from members and other individuals. To continue building the railroad, we will need the additional generosity of friends of the club. The SSMRC is a tax deductible, not for profit, organization. We welcome donations of any amount. Donations are deductible based on IRS guidelines governing 501c3 organizations
